40 off the beaten path things to do in Omaha 21-24

According to the Omaha World Herald, Omaha is a pretty great place to live, work and play. Which of course the majority of us who get to live, work or play here already knew right! We are often know for tour hot spots such as the Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo the Joslyn Art Museum , which are great way to spend the day with family and friends, but did you know there is even more off the beaten path.  So let’s take the next few days and explore those great things about Omaha that are off the beaten path.

Lewis and Clark Landing

 21. Learn a bit of history.
The Lewis & Clark Landing has 23 acres of land that provides a variety of options to relax and enjoy the Missouri River, outdoor concerts and festivals. See Lewis & Clark Interpretive exhibits, the Omaha Firefighter's Memorial Monument and the second largest labor monument in the United States, and take the circular stairway or ramp to the river-level plaza with umbrella tables and chairs and marina.
22. See where this newspaper was printed.
Omaha World-Herald tours of the John Gottschalk Freedom Center  are free and offered Monday through Friday, typically at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Times may vary depending on press schedule. Make arrangements by calling 444-1011.
23. Eat a steak.
The city is filled with beef eateries, such as Mahogany Prime Steakhouse801 Chophouse, and The Drover. Dine out at one (or all!) of these steakhouses.
24. Drink champagne at the Homy Inn.
Champagne flows right out of the tap at the Homy Inn, 1510 N. Saddle Creek Road. If you’re hungry, munch on warm peanuts or popcorn from metal dog bowls. Drink menus and newspapers decorate the walls.
