Winter is coming, and with it comes the hazards of cold and some home owner tasks. Here is just a small list of items that you will want to do before the first snow falls.
  • Take the snow blower out of storage and be sure to have it serviced
  • Check for extra gloves, hats, snow shovels
  • Drain outside houses and cover faucets
  • Have your furnace inspected
  • Have your fireplace cleaned and inspected
  • Check smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors
  • Check and clean gutters and inspect chimney
  • If needed, add additional insulation to walls
  • Caulk and weather-strip doors and windows
  • Install storm doors and cover windows with plastic from the inside
  • Insulate any water lines that run along outer walls
  • Install easy-to-read outdoor thermometer.
